Lisa Arrowood, Jed DeWick, and Elizabeth Kayatta Win Jury Verdict for Fidelity Investments

05/03/2016

Lisa Arrowood, Jed DeWick, and Elizabeth Kayatta obtained a defense verdict on behalf of Fidelity Investments on May 2, 2016 in an employment discrimination case brought by a former portfolio manager who was seeking in excess of $13 million in damages.  The former portfolio manager, who was removed from his position in 2011 for performance reasons and subsequently terminated, brought claims against Fidelity for disability discrimination, age discrimination, and wrongful termination in violation of public policy.  Ms. Arrowood, Mr. DeWick, and Ms. Kayatta succeeded in getting the age discrimination and wrongful termination claims dismissed prior to trial, and obtained a defense verdict on the disability discrimination claim following a 13-day jury trial in which a total of 19 witnesses testified.  The jury deliberated less than 2 hours before reaching its verdict.
